Farmer’s Market – May 24th

May 23, 2014 By Blue Skys Farm

We’re back!  Both Christina and I will be at the Farmer’s Market tomorrow.

The Blue Skys Farm crew was busy harvesting, weeding and rock-picking today.  Did you know that we not only grow herbs, vegetables, and flowers at Blue Skys…but we also grow rocks…really well.  After a few passes of the tractor, rocks just popped right up to the surface.

Here’s a ‘farmer selfie’ we took at the end of the day.  Please join us in welcoming Megan to the Blue Skys family.  She has been a wonderful addition to the farm.  In addition to farming, this RISD graduate is a talented artist!

L to R:  Kim, Christina and Megan

Tomorrow, we will be bringing the following items to market:

Baby Lacinato Kale (super tender and sweet)
Christina’s Custom Salad Mix*
Hakurie Turnips
Topless (woo woo!) Shunkyo Radishes

Last week we hosted a group of 4th Grade students at Blue Skys Farm.  After a tour from Christina and Megan, the students helped by doing some rock-picking on our upper field.  What a great feeling it is showing students where food really comes from.

Future Farmers of Rhode Island

See you at the market!
