Lemon Balm

lemon balm | Blue Skys FarmLemon Balm belongs to the mint family. It is a “nervine,” a nervous system tonic; a mood elevator; good for the liver and digestion; calming, reduces anxiety, helps sleep. Make lemon balm tea by steeping 1/4 to 1 teaspoon of dried herb in hot water.

We also recommend several blends with Lemon Balm that we sell: Lemon Balm and Lavender; Lemon Balm and Nettle; and Lemon Balm and Rosemary. Visit our herbs page for more information on our blends and other herbs.

Lemon Balm is also antibacterial, and good for wound care. Make a topical application to treat wounds and skin problems by steeping 2 to 4 teaspoons of lemon balm in one cup of boiling water for 10 to 15 minutes. Then, apply the tea to your skin using cotton balls.
