They were also busy this afternoon transplanting winter squash and pumpkins for the fall.  The varieties planted were:

Delicata Squash
Red Kuri Squash (thanks to Tim K. for the recommendation!)
Wee-Be-Little Mini Pumpkins
Jack Be Little Baby Pumpkins
We have also been busy filling up the Blue Skys Farm Drying Room with all sorts of herbs and flowers.

Here are some of the many bunches of peppermint picked today. This is what we use in our peppermint teas.

Have you tried iced peppermint tea?  It is very refreshing and good for you as well.  The website Organic Authority lists 7 health benefits of peppermint tea:

  1.  Relieving stress.
  2.  Aids in sleeping.
  3.  Increases focus and concentration.
  4.  Reduces appetite.
  5.  Relieves sinus congestion.
  6.  Helps to clear skin.
  7.  Soothes stomach discomfort.

Here are some calendula flowers that are just about fully dried.

Hope to see you at the market!
