Farm News!
We are happy to announce the opening of our on-line store, aptly titled The Herbal Drying Room. More information coming soon!
What a week it has been at the farm. First, the rain finally arrived on Wednesday. The rain started a bit earlier than we expected, but we are not complaining! Secondly, the heat has really set in today and we had to be sure to take things slow and to drink a lot of water.
Here is a photo of the crew harvesting potatoes today:
We harvested over 80 pounds of potatoes today! We could have had more but something has been eating them while they were still underground. We are not yet sure of what caused this damage, but whomever did it, it wiped approximately *half* of the harvest. Ouch. Not a total crop loss, thankfully, but certainly disappointing.
Christina took off a few, well-deserved days this week. As such, I was able to do some flower harvesting! There were sunflowers, celosia (two varieties) and some beautiful pink zinnias.
Here are some closeups of these flowers.

Thanks to everyone that brought us their grocery bags last week. We will put them to good use.

Hope to see you at the market!
