Farm News

Jerry and Christina have been very busy trying to get the new high tunnel constructed before the ground freezes.  The work has been slowed by large rocks, one of which, they were able to remove with the assistance of a very large tractor.  Today, another large rock was found as well as what looks like an old foundation.  This high tunnel build is definitely giving us all we can handle.  Wish us luck for the remainder of the construction.  Here is a photo, as the sun starts to go down…at 3:30 p.m. (eek!).  Our current high tunnels are in the background.

Three rows of Ashwagandha Root was harvested this week.  It is the last harvest of the upper field.  We made two trips, of this size load, of this herb prior to separating the root from the plant.  The root is then washed and put into the drying room  Here is some additional information on this herb.
