Pawtucket Wintertime Farmers Market – December 9

December 8, 2017 By Blue Skys Farm

Just a heads up that we’ll be changing the format of these posts for the winter. Instead of weekly posts, we’ll do them monthly.

In between posts, we’ll regularly update social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) with pics and news. Be sure to follow us!

Come and visit us on Saturday:

Pawtucket Wintertime Farmers Market
Hope Artiste Village
1005 Main St, Pawtucket, RI
Saturdays, 9am–1pm

We will be bringing the following items to the market:

Head Lettuce
Radishes (Watermelon & French Breakfast)
Swiss Chard
Spinach

Plus fresh and storage crops from fellow Urban Edge farms Scratch Farm and Zephyr Farm.

And, as always, Eggs from Pak Express Farm. Japanese Sweet Potatoes from them as well.

Arugula is coming!

Also in the ground: Lettuce Mix and Carrots. Lettuce Mix will be ready soon; however the carrots won’t be ready until maybe March. It’ll be a nice, sweet, later-winter treat. 🙂

After 6 years, we removed the plastic on this high tunnel for the winter, to allow rain inside. We'll add new plastic next spring.Newly-planted head lettucePanisse head lettuceFrench Breakfast radishArugula, growing slowly this time of yearRouge d’hiver lettuce—very hardy variety for winterLettuce mixVery pretty carrot tops

Sanctuary Herbs Update!

There’s a new space being built on Mineral Spring Ave in Pawtucket that we’ll be using! This brand new facility will serve as Sanctuary Herbs‘ processing plant.

As we’ve been growing and buying more and more herbs, we need a bigger, more permanent space for drying and processing.

Fully Rooted Juices will also have space in the building.

You’ll continue to be able to purchase Sanctuary Herbs products at the Pawtucket farmers market, at its own stand right next to the Blue Skys stand.
